First Book Of The Year 2019! #shereadswithfriends

Happy New Year Everyone!

For the 6th year in a row,  Shiela at BookJourney has posted a collage of images of readers and their first books of the year.  Be sure to stop by BookJourney and check it out.  Thanks Sheila for hosting this fun event!

I recently re-started my blog after an extended break.  I am happy that I still have some offers to review books.  Starting off, last week, I received a SheReads’ December selection.  SheReads re-launched their book club in November,  #shereadswithfriends on Instagram.  I was happy to be invited to join in with my blog.

Their December selection is: Once Upon a River: A Novel by British author Diane Setterfield.

  • Publisher: Atria/Emily Bestler Books (December 4, 2018)

“A beguiling tale, full of twists and turns like the river at its heart, and just as rich and intriguing.” —M.L. Stedman, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Light Between Oceans

From the instant #1 New York Times bestselling author of the “eerie and fascinating” (USA TODAY) The Thirteenth Tale comes a richly imagined, powerful new novel about the wrenching disappearance of three little girls and the wide-reaching effect it has on their small town.

What have you been reading lately?

  1. Hope its good Pat, I saw and got an email about the Diane Setterfield book but by then my month was already filled up with reads. Happy New Year.

  2. I’m really excited to see you back again, Pat! Yes, this book has definitely been getting a lot of interest. I loved The Thirteenth Tale and so I’ve got this one on my list to try at some point. Again, welcome back!
